The Spicy Maguro Roll is the spicy tuna roll on our sushi menu: 4 pieces for CHF 12.00, rolled inside-out at Han Kitchen, Baumackerstrasse 46 in Zurich Oerlikon. Elsewhere you may know it simply as a spicy tuna roll.
Maguro means tuna
«Maguro» is the Japanese word for tuna, and «spicy» tells you about the heat. The name does not say more than that, and neither does our menu. The tuna for our sushi comes from Vietnam. As with all our rolls, the sushi rice is on the outside and the nori on the inside.
Not sure how hot it will be for you, or have a question about the ingredients? Just ask our team in the restaurant or on 077 268 20 80.
Spicy Maguro or Maguro Roll?
There are two tuna rolls on our menu. The Spicy Maguro Roll (CHF 12.00) is the one with a kick. The Maguro Roll (CHF 11.00) is made with cooked tuna, making it the milder choice – and our most affordable roll.
If you would like tuna in another form, try the tekka maki (CHF 10.00), maguro nigiri (CHF 10.00), tuna sashimi (CHF 14.00) or our tuna tartare (CHF 19.00).
Balancing the heat
The Spicy Maguro Roll is a good pick if you love sushi but sometimes find the classic rolls a little tame. It brings heat to your sushi platter without having to switch to a hot, spicy dish from our Korean menu.
A spicy roll calls for a calmer partner. The Salmon & Avocado Roll (CHF 12.00) or the California Roll (CHF 12.00) both work well, mild and creamy thanks to the avocado. Edamame or a miso soup will soothe your palate in between.
