Our Avocado Maki is the vegetarian maki on Han Kitchen’s sushi menu: 6 pieces for CHF 9.00, with sushi rice and avocado wrapped in nori. You will find it at Baumackerstrasse 46 in Zurich Oerlikon, to enjoy in the restaurant or to take away.
Avocado wrapped in nori
Maki are the classic sushi roll: the nori sheet sits on the outside, with sushi rice and a single filling inside. In the Avocado Maki that filling is ripe avocado – creamy, mild and slightly nutty, a lovely match for the gently seasoned rice. Each roll is cut into six bite-sized pieces that are easy to eat with chopsticks or simply with your fingers.
Because the filling is so simple, the Avocado Maki is a great choice if you are trying sushi for the first time. It is not spicy, contains no fish and tends to go down well with children too. It also works as a light addition when there is already salmon or tuna on the table.
Vegetarian sushi in Oerlikon
There are two vegetarian maki on our menu: Avocado Maki and Cucumber Maki, both CHF 9.00. If you would rather skip fish altogether, add Inari Nigiri (CHF 8.00), edamame or a seaweed salad from the starters, and you have a varied little sushi spread that is genuinely filling.
Fancy something a touch richer? The Salmon & Avocado Maki (CHF 10.00) adds Norwegian salmon to the same avocado. And if you prefer inside-out rolls with the rice on the outside, our «Rolls» section offers portions of 4 pieces from CHF 11.00.
