Our Japanese-style green salad is the lightest starter at Han Kitchen in Zurich-Oerlikon: vegetarian, fresh and CHF 8.50. It’s the cool counterpoint to spicy Korean dishes and goes with any sushi order.
What does ‘Japanese-style’ mean?
In Japanese restaurants a green salad rarely gets a classic oil-and-vinegar dressing. Far more common are dressings based on soy sauce and rice vinegar (wafu dressing), creamy sesame dressings (goma) or a bright dressing of grated ginger and carrot. What they share is a subtle umami note that gives leafy greens more depth than vinegar alone. Ask us in the restaurant which dressing we use.
When to order it
As a starter before a hearty main such as so bulgogi or kimchi jigae, as a fresh side with rolls and nigiri – or at lunchtime with a miso soup (CHF 6.00) for a light meal. The salad is marked as vegetarian on our menu.
To take it away, call 077 268 20 80 or collect it during opening hours at Baumackerstrasse 46.
