Ebi is Japanese for prawn, and our Ebi Nigiri is prawn on hand-shaped sushi rice: 2 pieces for CHF 9.00. Enjoy it at Han Kitchen, Baumackerstrasse 46 in Zurich Oerlikon, in the restaurant or as a takeaway.
Prawn on rice
For ebi nigiri, the prawn is traditionally cooked, peeled and butterflied so that it lies flat across the rice. The result is a nigiri with a delicate, slightly sweet flavour and a pleasant bite – quite unlike the soft fish nigiri with salmon or tuna.
With its pale, red-and-white striped look, ebi nigiri brightens up any sushi selection. Many guests who are not yet keen on raw fish start their nigiri journey with ebi or unagi. Our team is happy to explain exactly how we prepare the prawn for our Ebi Nigiri, in the restaurant or over the phone.
Prawns on our menu
Besides Ebi Nigiri (CHF 9.00 for 2 pieces), you will find prawns in our Tempura Roll (CHF 12.00 for 4 pieces), fried and rolled inside-out with cucumber. Seafood lovers can also try the California Roll with crayfish (CHF 12.00) or the crayfish salad (CHF 14.50) from the starters.
A well-balanced nigiri round for two might look like this: ebi, salmon and maguro, one portion each. Add a Cucumber Maki (CHF 9.00) as a fresh companion, and you have a varied sushi selection on the table.
Take away or dine in
